Odisha started celebrating Chhenapoda Dibasa or Chhena Poda Day on 11 April in 2022 on the birth date of Late Sudarsan Sahoo, the inventer of Chhenapoda. The discussion started and social media and even the goverment organizations started supporting this day and celebrated with a grand celebration.
But, by the claim of some other group, the original Chhenapoda dibasa should be celebrated on 31 December instead of 11 April, because the orinigal invernotr of this sweet is Bidyadhar Sahoo, the father of Sudarshan Sahoo. And, it's not inveted in Nayagarh, it's invented in Dasapalla, a place in Nayagarh district.
There are two different groups, who are celebrating the day on both the days. Till now, it's not fixed when to celebrate. But since the 1st celebratin started on 11 April, most of the people celebrate is on that day.
